Paul Pope - Artists - Philippe Labaune Gallery

Paul Pope
American, b. 1970

Paul Pope is a New York based artist seeking to push the boundaries of traditional comic art and illustration. In his effort to create something entirely new, Pope weaves the verve and page design of Japanese manga with the delicate precision of European bande dessinée. Two unique worlds converge into one beneath his pen.

Pope’s work has been acknowledged in the form of five Eisner Awards recognizing his brilliance as an artist, writer, and multifaceted creator. Cemented as a masterful artist of the current era, he pays respect to those creators who have preceded him while making something entirely new.
